About EnviroScope

EnviroScope is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting sustainable and equitable pest management practices in South Africa. We address the health and environmental risks associated with pesticide use through advocacy, training, research support, and community engagement. Guided by the value of good science, we strive to implement evidence-based solutions and promote informed decision-making.

  • Advocacy: Lobby for stronger pesticide regulations and enforcement mechanisms. Advocate for the inclusion of pesticide safety education in school curricula.
  • Training: Conduct training programs for farmers, pesticide vendors, and healthcare professionals on pesticide safety, risk assessment, and integrated pest management.
  • Research Support: Support research initiatives developing and evaluating low-toxic pesticide alternatives and integrated pest management approaches. Document the impact of pesticides on human health and the environment.
  • Community Engagement: Work with communities to develop sustainable livelihoods and promote pesticide-free food choices. Raise awareness about the dangers of pesticides and promote safe handling practices.
  • Education: Develop and disseminate educational materials for health experts, educators, and youth about the health and environmental impacts of pesticides.
  • Multimedia Campaigns: Launch campaigns for stopping the use of highly hazardous pesticides (HHPs). Promote safe pesticide management and alternative pest control methods.
  • Website and Social Media: Maintain an informative website and active social media presence to disseminate information and engage with stakeholders.
  • Publications and Reports: Publish research findings, case studies, and reports to showcase our work and impact.
  • Media Relations: Build relationships with journalists and media outlets to raise awareness about pesticide issues and Enviroscope’s activities.
  • Partnerships: Collaborate with other NGOs, government agencies, and research institutions to amplify our reach and impact.
